Ibogaine Therapy
Ibogaine is a synaptic pruner. It helps to clear out the mental cobwebs. It can get rid of the damaged, unwanted connections that have to do with repetitive addictive patterns, obsessive thought forms and trauma…The connection the iboga root fosters stem from how roots in the ground connect to other trees and plant life in the soil. This connection is a good metaphor for the way iboga helps us to heal. We are able to feel connected to ourselves, to others, and the natural world around us.

Ibogaine is not legal everywhere. There is a rise of interest in ibogaine’s therapeutic benefits which is giving some hope that there may be a change in its legal standing in the United States but for now, ibogaine is currently a Schedule 1 narcotic, considered to have no medical value, in the United States.
We work within jurisdictions where ibogaine is unscheduled and is able to be offered safely and legally.
Preparation for Treatment
Application for Treatment Pre-screening:
Prior to working with ibogaine pre-screening of certain biomarkers are required. We need to see that the heart is in stable condition, the liver is functioning well enough to process the medicine and that the electrolytes in the system are also within normal range. We also need to be made aware of current/recent/past drug use to account for potential unsafe interactions.
EKG test to confirm heart health
Before scheduling your treatment, we require submission of a full print out of a EKG test, not just the interpretation of the test results. EKGs can be ordered by your primary care practitioner or be requested by your local walk-in clinic. The EKG test results can be no more than two months old prior to treatment.Blood work to show liver health and electrolyte levels
Before scheduling your treatment we require the submission of results of a full metabolic panel that includes liver enzymes, magnesium and potassium. Blood work can generally be done with your primary care or at a walk-in clinic.Health History
Included in the application process is a patient intake form that informs us of your health history and current physical and mental health.
This information helps us to better understand your physiological needs, previous and current mental health status and informs us of current medications which is important for us to be aware of for safety purposes.Possible drug interactions
Certain medications and street drugs are contraindicated for ibogaine therapy. For your safety it is important that we are informed of current and past drug use. We also need to be informed of any supplements and over-the-counter drugs that are being taken.
Some medications/drugs need time to clear the system before ibogaine can be administered. This includes some psychiatric medications, such as SSRI antidepressants and alcohol. Tapering off of such substances is required before ibogaine treatment.
Some pharmaceuticals need to be continually taken during treatment if there is currently consistent use (such as with Benzodiazepines). We will work together to plan accordingly.
